From India with Love

Breaking news from Bethania Kids!

Two Bethania Kids staff members will be arriving soon to spend several weeks in the States - Paramadass and Godfrey Henry Immanual. I met Paramadass in Kodaikanal, where he works in the mountain village of Pumbari, where Bethania has one of its six Kodaikanal centers and Mabel's Creche - a sewing center for young women.

Paramadass is a warm and caring man committed to offering love and nurture to the children under his wing.

On the day I left Kodai and went for a farewell walk on Coaker's Walk, Paramadass was the last acquaintance I saw. He was picking up some medication for his daughter from the Van Allen Hospital.

Paramadass and Godfrey will be at my church, Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, on November 14, speaking at the adult forum and joining us in an Indian meal.

Hi,

My name is Vish Cornelius and I have stumbled on your blogspor by accident. Your blog on Bargur (Blind School) caught my attention as I grew up in that bunglow for 10 years. You have probably heard about my mother Mrs. Esther Cornelius, who is the founder of that school alongwith Rev. Maans and other missionaries. I was there when they build the concrete structures in late 70's and attented Concordia School next door. I am still in touch with some of the first set of students of Blind School and consider them very dear to my heart.
Currently I live in San Clemente, CA, and would love to get in touch with you.

Hi Mark...don't know if you remember me from CSP days. I had no idea that you had connections with India. I spent 5 1/2 years of my grade-school life in Kodaikanal. My parents taught there. They also served with Wycliffe Bible Translators as teachers and we lived in Brazil while I was in high school. I have always had the desire to go back to India. LCMS has some short-term opportunities in the summer...am considering and praying about going and God's will/timing. I had for years been in touch with Alice Bauer, but lost touch with her so was wondering if she was still in Ambur (where one of the short-term events is this July/Aug) So...since I was trying to find out about her that's how I bumped into your blog. Interesting also to learn about Bethania ministries. I'm a DCE now in O'Fallon, IL, just outside of St. Louis. Anyway...it's been interesting reading your blog. Are you planning to go back to India again soon? If I decide to go it would be good to chat and get some pointers from you since you've been there recently. God's blessings, Dorinda (Noack) Werner
